They avoid the use of plastic, collaborate with local suppliers in France and Europe, and produce their perfumes in Grasse, France. In addition, they donate 1% of their sales to the Surfrider Foundation, an organisation dedicated to protecting the world’s oceans. Transparency in ingredient sourcing and product formulation is another key value of Bastille Parfums. The brand clearly lists all ingredients used in its perfumes, a practice that is rare in the industry. Reflecting this commitment, Bastille Parfums’ secondary packaging has been carefully designed to minimise its environmental impact. The recent redesign, which was carried out in collaboration with FINEMAKERS and EGISA, is in line with its sustainability philosophy and meets the expectations of its conscientious consumers. Bastille Parfums took advantage of its new visual identity to reduce its carbon footprint by moving from a bulky rigid cardboard box to a folding cardboard box that is delivered flat. This change has resulted in a 39% reduction in packaging weight, substantial savings in transport and shipping costs, and a minimisation of waste. The new packaging also requires a minimum of adhesive, thus enhancing its environmentally friendly profile. Bastille Parfums has chosen a white, uncoated, lightly textured, FSC-certified cardboard for this new packaging solution, thus ensuring responsible sourcing of raw materials. The mechanical properties of this board effectively replace the protective and communicative functions of the previous bulky rigid boxes with a folding carton design delivered flat, which is more sustainable and efficient.
