EGISA joins the Healthy Cities 2025 challenge
EGISA joins the Healthy Cities 2025 challenge to boost the health of its employees and reinforce its commitment to the environment
At EGISA we firmly believe that the health of people is directly linked to the health of the planet.
That is why, this May, we are joining for the first time the Healthy Cities project, an initiative promoted by Sanitas, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles in the corporate environment.
Launched in 2015, Healthy Cities was born with a clear purpose: to motivate companies and their employees to adopt more active and environmentally friendly lifestyles, promoting not only individual well-being, but also a positive impact on our cities and communities. In 2024, more than 28,000 people and 250 companies joined the initiative, together accumulating 9.61 billion steps and enabling the planting of more than 28,000 trees in forests and urban environments.
With our participation, we reaffirm EGISA’s commitment to the health, well-being of our team and environmental sustainability, in full coherence with our corporate social responsibility strategy and our alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
What is Healthy Cities 2025?
During the months of May and June, EGISA employees will take part in this collective challenge based on two key actions:
-
Daily physical activity: walking at least 6,000 steps a day, promoting regular exercise in a simple and accessible way.
-
Sustainable mobility: leave the car at home at least one day a week, opting for alternatives such as walking, cycling or using public transport.
Participation is very simple and totally free: just download the official Healthy Cities app, register and start recording your daily steps.
In addition, the programme includes a ranking between teams (companies or autonomous communities) and within each team, the awarding of medals (bronze, silver and gold) according to the level of activity, and special prizes. Those who achieve the gold medal – by walking at least 6,000 steps for a minimum of 55 days – will be entered into a draw for a very special trip for two people.
Most importantly, for each participant who completes the challenge, Sanitas will plant a tree, thus contributing to the regeneration of urban ecosystems.
Health, sustainability and commitment
EGISA’s participation in Healthy Cities 2025 reinforces our commitments in three key areas:
-
Health and well-being: we promote healthy lifestyles among our teams (SDG 3).
-
Climate action: We promote sustainable mobility and the reduction of CO₂ emissions (SDG 13).
-
Sustainable cities: we contribute to improving the quality of life in our environment (SDG 11).
At EGISA we believe that every step counts. We are committed to a future in which companies not only generate economic value, but also actively contribute to a healthier and more sustainable world for all.
The countdown begins!
On 1 May this adventure begins. We invite all our team to walk, take care of themselves and be part of a movement that transforms lives… and cities.
And if you are not part of EGISA but want to join the challenge, you can do so too! Healthy Cities is open to the general public: you can sign up individually representing your autonomous community and start taking steps for your health and for the planet.
At EGISA we are walking together towards a healthier and more sustainable future!
